2. Collection
We collect personal information about you when you register to use our environmental monitoring system through our SmartFarms website or app. This information will include your name, contact details, environmental information about your farm, and information about your farming business. We may also collect personal information if you email or phone us.
3. Holding of information
Personal information that you provide will be held by SmartFarms.
We have taken steps to ensure that your information is well protected. However, we cannot guarantee that our systems are completely secure. We will not be responsible for any breach of security or unauthorised use of your information by third parties.
4. Use and disclosure of personal information
Personal information collected via our website and app will be used for the purposes for which it was collected or for other reasons permitted by the Privacy Act 1993.
We may use any personal information provided to us for the purpose of administering, evaluating and improving SmartFarms, improving our services and communicating with you.
Individual information on your farm will not be provided to any third party without your consent. However we may use the data you provide on your farm to publish combined sub-regional, regional and national information. This information will be aggregated and will not personally identify you or your farm.
We may need to disclose your personal information if required by law.

You have the right to view and change any personal information we hold about you at any time. Smartfarms members can do this on Smartfarms by entering your email address and password and updating your Profile.

Statistical information and cookies
6. Statistical information collected
We may collect statistical information about your visit to help us improve SmartFarms. This information is aggregated and will not personally identify you or your farm. It includes:

7. Use of statistical information
The statistical information referred to above will be viewable by SmartFarms site administrators.

SmartFarms generates persistent session cookies for the purpose of monitoring usage and allowing you to securely disclose your personal information. The cookies do not collect personal information. You can disable them or clear them out of the web browser you are using to view SmartFarms after using the site but if you disable cookies during your visit you will not be able to use SmartFarms.
